Dr. Galland received his PhD from the University of Helsinki, Finland, in 2004. His areas of interest are: Microbial ecology: link between community diversity (Archaea and Bacteria) and ecosystem functioning. Host-associated microbiomes. Chemosynthetic ecosystems: diversity of microbial communities forming the basis for chemosynthetic ecosystems.
